Golden Horizons Counseling

Hi, I'm Rebecca Sandoval, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) with a M.A. in Counseling from Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon.  I have provided counseling to children, youth, families and adult women in a variety of settings including community mental heath, residential treatment, schools, and day treatment.  

I provide individual and family therapy, and have previously led group therapy for children and youth at schools and after-school programs.  Many children and youth are experiencing an increase in anxiety and depression, peer and family conflict, grief and loss, trauma, and behavioral issues, etc.  I hope to provide a safe and welcoming environment to help guide them toward a different path and brighter future.  I believe early intervention for children is an important step in promoting healthy coping and emotional regulation skills, as well as providing parent education and support.  

I utilize a variety of methods including cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, trauma-informed care, play therapy, sand tray therapy, and psycho-social-emotional educational tools.  I also provide Christian counseling when requested.
