I love connecting with clients, supporting colleagues, and creating spaces where we can share resources, solve problems, and make mental health care more accessible. For me, it’s all about building real connections that make a difference — one person, one community, one system at a time.

I chose to become a social worker because, after experiencing my own trauma, it led me to discovering a deep passion for helping others. I want to help others realize that growth and healing can happen even through the darkest of times and that it's possible to change, adapt, and overcome the most challenging obstacles that life throws at us. I want to be the person that walks beside them through their journey and to help them become a healthier version of themselves.

I chose social work because I believe deeply in the power of healing, connection, and resilience. From an early age, I felt called to walk alongside others as they navigate life’s challenges. My passion is working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, helping them uncover their strengths and discover new ways to thrive. I often integrate play therapy, art therapy, and trauma-informed practices, and I am pursuing training in EMDR to further support individuals in processing and healing from difficult experiences.
I see each client as the expert of their own story. My role is to create a safe, compassionate space where people feel truly seen and heard, and to empower them to move toward growth, wholeness, and hope.

I want to be a counselor because I believe everyone deserves the chance to grow, heal, and see the best version of themselves. Mistakes happen, but they don’t have to define us—we can learn, we can change, and we can build better lives. I’m passionate about working with people who often feel overlooked, or stigmatized including those with criminal histories, addictions, trauma, or suicidal thoughts and more. My goal is to spread kindness, empathy, and hope—to be a steady reminder that no one is beyond a second chance, and that with the right support, everyone has the ability to create a brighter future.

My personal motivation for becoming a counselor stemmed from a life long experience of helping others. I wanted to make a difference in the lives of those who were struggling and show them that they deserve to live their best life. After my family and I experienced a traumatic experience, it only solidified my desire to help others show them a way out of the darkness. I want clients to know that I will be there every step of the way as they strive to make the necessary changes to live a happier, healthier life in a safe and comforting environment.

I became a counselor because I believe in the incredibly transformative experience of having the space to express your authentic self in a place that is meant just for you. After working with families and in crisis centers for nearly a decade, it became clear that counseling was the calling for me. I love to connect in a real way with my clients and make a difference where it counts, whether it is individually, in relationship, or with families- communities thrive when we are connected and cared for.
As a master’s student in social work, my internship at the Hub gave me opportunities and training that closely aligned with the program’s core values and competencies in working with individuals, groups, and the wider community. Over two semesters, I met weekly with clients from diverse backgrounds while receiving consistent feedback and supervision.
Beyond direct practice, the Hub provided access to a variety of trainings led by both in-house and outside specialists, which enriched my skills and broadened my perspective. Perhaps most meaningful, I was supported in stepping beyond the walls of the Hub to advocate for positive change in our community. I consider this an invaluable experience that strengthened my identity as both a student and a community member.
Christy and the Hub foster a welcoming, supportive environment where students can explore different modalities and follow their passions. My gratitude for the Hub continues to grow as it expands and deepens its role as a resource for students, providers, and the wider community.
